New York’s NYSCATE and Teacher Tablet Training
Uncategorized March 23, 2011, 0 Comment 24The New York State Association for Computers and Technologies in Education (NYSCATE) will be training teachers in the use of tablets this summer, including Apple iPads, the Dell Inspiron duo (running Microsoft Windows 7), or the Dell Streak 7 (running Google’s Android 2.2). This is being reported by the Journal, an online news source that bills itself as “transforming education through technology.”
This move by New York is welcome. The potential for the tablet to replace textbooks and serve as a valuable tool in training and elsewhere is finally being realized after years of talk and planning.
